Filippos G. Dounis is a data-driven leader renowned for his expertise in operations, intelligence, and strategic investment. He currently serves as Director of Operations (COO) and Board Member at Lusail Energy, where he leverages his deep knowledge in trade, data science, and intelligence to pioneer cutting-edge initiatives in the energy sector.

Demonstrating his commitment to international cooperation and trade, Filippos is one of the founding members and a current Board Member of the Hellenic-Iraqi Chamber of Commerce and Industry. In this role, he fosters economic growth and robust commercial ties between Greece and Iraq, further solidifying his global business expertise through initiatives that promote bilateral trade, investment opportunities, and cultural exchange.

Before joining Lusail Energy, Filippos honed his global market acumen through his own commodities brokerage and trading company, specializing in fuels. This hands-on experience provided him with invaluable insights into supply chains, price fluctuations, and emerging market opportunities—forming the backbone of his data-driven approach to energy and commodities.

Filippos’s academic foundation stems from Carnegie Mellon University and King's College London, where he studied Information Systems and Data Science. Selected for an Honor’s Thesis, he delved into Satellite Intelligence, Natural Language Processing (NLP), Deep Learning, and Large Language Models (LLM)—culminating in a pioneering framework to forecast freight costs of dry bulk commodities in conflict-affected areas, with a particular emphasis on Ukrainian wheat.

Prior to his current role, Filippos served as Head of Threat Intelligence at Memorandum, one of Greece’s top cybersecurity firms. He built and executed a global intelligence strategy, proactively identifying and mitigating emergent information warfare threats. Beyond this, he has held leadership positions at multiple Private Intelligence Contractors across London and Cyprus, where he continues to advise on sophisticated intelligence operations worldwide.

Filippos also acts as a trusted advisor to a prestigious Royal Family Office in the Gulf region, guiding essential decisions on wealth management and long-term investments. His financial acumen further includes his tenure as Investor Relations Manager at Chicago Atlantic, where he was instrumental in driving capital-raising efforts throughout Europe and the Middle East, contributing to the global deployment of over $2.1B in capital.
